THE LORD'S REBUKE

 I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.

PROVERBS 3:11-12 NKJV
11   My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction;
12   For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

PROVERBS 13:24 NKJV
     He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

PROVERBS 19:18 NKJV
     Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his destruction.

PROVERBS 23:13 NKJV
     Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.

HEBREWS 12:5-11 NKJV
5    And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not
despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6    For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives."
7    If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a
father does not chasten?
8    But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are
illegitimate and not sons.
9    Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall
we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
10   For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit,
that we may be partakers of His holiness.
11   Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but grievous; nevertheless, afterward it
yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

1 PETER 5:6-11 NKJV
6    Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due
time,
7    casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8    Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking
whom he may devour.
9    Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the some sufferings are experienced by your
brotherhood in the world.
10   But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you
have suffered awhile, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11   To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

REVELATION 3:19 NKJV
     "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
